The Adventure Support Ecosystem

Practical, creative, and community-first ways to support the channel — without paid memberships.

Level 1 - Light Support

Low-effort actions that have outsized impact on reach and momentum. Jet fuel for the algorythm!

  • Boost Minute: Within 24 hours of a new video:
    1. Subscribe and hit the Notifications Icon 🔔 so you know when a new video comes out!

    2. Open the video on YouTube

    3. Watch at least 2-3 minutes (or full video if you can!).

    4. Give it a Thumbs Up 👍, leave a thoughtful one-line comment, and share to one social forum (Reddit/Discord/FB) with a short line like: "If you like trail vids, check this one - great shots and not your normal POV."

  • Story Captions: Add a short anecdote or photo in the comments. I read the comments and share the best ones in community posts, credits, or mentions during future videos.
  • Captioning Crew: YouTube does automatic captions, and they are... mostly not horrible. A surprising number of viewers watch with captions on! Want to help? Send me an email with your interest in helping - I'll send you raw transcript files from YouTube's auto-generation, you make them match the video better, send them back, and I'll update the video with your clean, professional captions! If you like translating, you can do that too!

Level 2 - Practical Support

Directly reduces production costs and smooths logistics.

  • Amazon / Gear Registry: A great place to see the gear I use and how you can contribute:
    1. Click the registry link and browse the items - I try to include everything I use and if you want to contribute, choose one - it can be anything, even just a contribution to the gift card fund for those emergency needs.

    2. At checkout use your shipping address (my address is secured by the registry provider) - items arrive at my address without exposing personal info.

    3. Tip: Consumables and small items are the most popular, they get used up and are often the most helpful and cheapest.

  • Gear Giver: I complain a lot in my videos - I'm human! Things break, wear out, or need an upgrade, and viewers often realize they have parts lying around that they don't know what to do with.  Send me an email if you have gear you want to donate to the cause, and I'll provide my mailing address and pay for shipping. Recent gear donated or things like rotors, used brake calipers and master cylinders, cassette, wheels, etc.
  • Skill Swap: Offer a one-off skill (music bed, color grading, animation, web help).  Use the contact form to propose what you can do and when.
  • Affiliate Boost: For the future ... when I have affilate links!

Level 3 - Community Support

Build community, help with outreach, and create live experiences.

  • Trail Team: Join the Adventure Dispatch mailing list and you'll get early links to watch, stories and photos that don't make it into YouTube, heads-up on future projects/productions, call to action opportunities. I'll never spam you!
    1. Weekly Dispatch, generally coinciding with new vids, newsletter, and whatever else comes to mind - an insider's view.

    2. Monthly Trail Journal, deeper stories, behind the scenes, links to unlisted content or early views.

    3. Occasional Bonus Drops, big stories or upcoming projects, opportunities to collaborate, breaking news.

  • Meetups: Want to be a physical part of the action? Join the Adventure Dispatch mailing list to see where I'm at these days (because vids are usually in a queue - I may be across the country by now!) - hit me up via the Contact page and let's see if we can arrange a ride (so long as you don't mind being on camera!).

  • Watch Parties: RSVP to watch parties (live premieres on YouTube), no fee required, just show up, bring good vibes, and participate in the party!

  • Trail Builders / Scouts: Have a favorite route I should check out? Submit a route (TrailForks links are great!), what you love about the route and that special thing that makes it great for Stump TV (and me as a rider!). I'll keep a list and when I ride it, I'll credit you in the video.

Level 4 - Legacy Support

Deep collaboration: leave an imprint on a video or series. Supporters and Co-Creators.

  • Sponsor a Video: Be a micro-sponsor! Sponsor an individual video.
    1. Watch the Adventure Dispatch newsletter for opportunities of upcoming video projects, or suggest your own.

    2. Sponsor an amount that helps cover fuel, fees (think camping or shuttle service), coffee, and production costs.

    3. Get on-screen credit as a sponsor tailored to your liking: "This episode supported by Steve's Coffee Fund!" A link to your thing if desired, and a behind-the-scenes personal update.

  • Route Donors & Land Hosts: Invite filming on your land or arrange a private spot. I'll confirm permissions and credit you on-screen as the route donor. It can help your advertising if that's a thing (think retreats, campgrounds, rentals, etc.). Only catch is, it either needs to have trails or be close to trails where I can ride my mountain bike!

  • Co-Creator Credits: Provide footage, a good story, original music, artwork or animation and receive co-creator credit and links in the description (legal rights and simple contributor agreement are required - I'll send a non lawyer-like release).

Tip: Recognition matters, and is kind of the whole point! If you want a specific credit phrasing (nicknames, social handle), include it when you sign up and I'll honor it exactly as written.
Reality Check: Keep in mind that, for now, I do this as a weekend warrior outside of a regular full-time job! As our Adventure Ecosystem grows, who knows where it'll lead!
